bikes are complimentary for hotel guest use and are available from 8 am to dusk (there are no lights on the bikes so please be back before dark!). bikes are single gear with pedal brakes and are not meant for strenuous or long-distance rides. what they are perfect for is a tootle about town, to the woods, or down to the river.

we provide complimentary continental breakfast including organic French-press coffee from flying goat.

boon has a full bar with beer, wine, spirits, soft drinks, juices and water. your thirst will be quenched here.

most of our rooms are appointed with wood-burning fireplaces (except rooms 4, 5 + 11). fireplaces are quite a treat during the cooler months. even in the warmer months, the temperature drops at night and sometimes a cozy fire hits the spot. we provide firelogs for your enjoyment. logs are replenished daily, as needed, when rooms are refreshed.

we feel strongly about our responsibility to care for the earth and minimize waste. we look forward to the day when we won't need to have a green initiatives page because "green" will just be the way things are.

when the temperature rises, we use fans and open windows/doors to cool our rooms. when the temperature drops, each room is appointed with a propane heater which quickly brings the room to a warm and comfortable temperature.

in order to minimize use of natural resources and keep room rates low, we do not change linens daily. we do, however, freshen rooms daily. towels are replaced by request.

we are a non-smoking resort. if you smoke, you may do so on your back patio or in the flagstone plaza at the back of the property (please use an ashtray - available at the poolside bar). please do not smoke in the pool area, grass meadow or in your room.

office hours are 8 am to 7 pm. if your arrival time falls outside these hours, please let us know and we will provide late arrival instructions. dvd players and games are available to check out and there are cool eco friendly candles, cleaning products and boon t-shirts available for purchase.

our pool and hot tub are both saline. the pool is heated using solar panels (located on the south-facing roof of one of our buildings). this means the pool is a fantastic 80° - 85° F from about may until around october. in the cooler months, the solar panels can't keep up with the cold air and, thus, the pool is quite chilly. the hot tub, however, is conventionally-heated and remains at a piping hot 104° year-round.
